Another Tolkien Week is nearly passed and we've been having an absolute blast. For those who may not be aware, Tolkien Week is the week containing the combined birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, September 22, which is also the first day of Autumn. To honor the Father of the Fantasy genre as we know it, this week is often set aside by fans to revel in the Professor's timeless works once more. Many simply curl up with a nice cup of tea and relax as they once again wander among the golden wood of Lothlorien while intermittent rays of sunlight burst through the canopy. Others, like us, do a little more (though there was plenty of tea drinking and imaginary wandering to be had -- there's too much to do for any real wandering...sadly). As we stretch our brains to come up with fun products, we often find inspiration in the things we love most.
It's been a pretty busy month of work here for us. We're finalizing our work on the OSR tile pack and designing a hand drawn 5e OGL character journal! We're also continuing our work on prototype table props. Once we get a good process down, we'll start offering those up for people who like a little tangible flair in their games. Take a look at this quick gallery to see what kinds of things we're doing. The character journal presented is actually the one we'll be using to run our games of their most excellent 5e campaign setting: Adventures in Middle Earth. Finally, Tolkien comes to D&D.
