Just a small update this week to show we're still alive. We've been working hard on cobbling together some articles and other new material for everyone. We're also building up some stock for a shop we hope to open, making some of our most popular items more widely available. So far, we're looking to provide our adventurer's currency, wands, Inspiration tokens, brass rings, and hand stitched journals. We've posted pictures of these items before, but will drop a small gallery below for everyone to view. If enough revenue can be generated from these few items, then we'll add a bunch of other things. Other products we hope to include some day are dwarf keys, elf brooches, Celtic torqs, runic inscriptions, hand drawn maps on leather, scroll tubes, puzzle tubes, fairy doors, dice trays, dice holders, dungeon set pieces, various bits of other terrain, dragon eggs and whatever else strikes our fancy, really. All of these pieces are in various stages of development so we can quickly produce quality pieces on demand.
Another Tolkien Week is nearly passed and we've been having an absolute blast. For those who may not be aware, Tolkien Week is the week containing the combined birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, September 22, which is also the first day of Autumn. To honor the Father of the Fantasy genre as we know it, this week is often set aside by fans to revel in the Professor's timeless works once more. Many simply curl up with a nice cup of tea and relax as they once again wander among the golden wood of Lothlorien while intermittent rays of sunlight burst through the canopy. Others, like us, do a little more (though there was plenty of tea drinking and imaginary wandering to be had -- there's too much to do for any real wandering...sadly). As we stretch our brains to come up with fun products, we often find inspiration in the things we love most.
It's been a pretty busy month of work here for us. We're finalizing our work on the OSR tile pack and designing a hand drawn 5e OGL character journal! We're also continuing our work on prototype table props. Once we get a good process down, we'll start offering those up for people who like a little tangible flair in their games. Take a look at this quick gallery to see what kinds of things we're doing. The character journal presented is actually the one we'll be using to run our games of their most excellent 5e campaign setting: Adventures in Middle Earth. Finally, Tolkien comes to D&D.
There's a lot going on here, at the moment, and we're excited to share a bit of it with you. First of all, we added a section for Retro Roleplaying to our website. Now you can find all the Old School shenanigans in one place! We play the first Saturday of every month and will be cycling through games and systems regularly. We're bound and determined to try out everything we can and have some super fun games coming to you soon. We have loads of Old School Revival games, The Dark Eye, Savage Rifts, Fuzion, Warhammer FRP 1e, and Robotech, and many more! After we play each game, we'll have a short episode talking about the pros and cons of every system. We're furiously constructing fun worlds to play some of the more generic systems in and working on fantastic stories for the tried and true veterans. Please like and subscribe to our videos and channel so we can keep bringing you great content.
We definitely need to work on how often we update. Okay, prepare yourselves. This is going to be pretty packed. We have been absolutely swamped with work. It's been fantastic. So many great things are happening right now I'm pretty sure something is going to be missed, but here it goes:
We have a few noteworthy items today. First, we released a new tile pack in our Autumn Wood series: the Autumn Ruins! Venture further into the Golden Wood and you will discover a ruined tower. Who made it and how it feel are a mystery, but there remains one wooden trap door in the center of the tower. Do you have the daring to uncover the secrets of the Tower? Second, we have a minor update for the Legacy RPG System and Alerion Setting. The first section of the playtest documents are nearly done! This section describes how to build the basic six-sided dice pool, various ways the system and Chronicler can effect it, and general adventuring rules. We've also been messing around with different concepts for the interior setting art. We keep bouncing around between realism and something a little more animated looking. I think most of that is because the two of us have very different art styles and I'm terrible at adopting someone else's. This is why I do the writing (which, it seems, I make enough mistakes in - my English degree blushes with shame). |
